Srbadija of St. Sava performs at St. Elijah Folklore Fest; Zabava follows – Saturday, Mar. 5

The St. Elijah Folklore Group of Merrillville, Indiana is hosting their late Winter Folklore Festival Saturday, March 5 and Srbadija of St. Sava Church will be among the groups to perform.

The program is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. at the St. Elijah Serbian American Hall 8700 Taft Street, Merrillville, Indiana and multiple folklore groups have been invited to perform. A traditional Serbian Zabava will follow the program with music by Veseljak.

Save-the-Date: Srbadija Folklore hosts the Second Annual Intercultural Dance Festival – Saturday, May 7

The Intercultural Dance Festival 2016 taking place Saturday, May 7 is a special program and fundraising event sponsored by Srbadija Folklore at St. Sava Church in Merrillville, IN.

This festival will showcase several Serbian Dance Groups from the around the USA and local dance groups representing a variety of cultures and ethnic heritage. Serbian-style food will be available to purchase. A full cash bar will be available as well as specials from the Famous Serbian Bake Sale.

The goal of the fundraiser is not only to give back to the church and community, but to raise enough funds to maintain basic operating expenses and to purchase new costumes for the youth participants. There is hope to raise enough money to take the group on long-distance trips to perform at other festivals.

Please join Srbadija and the St. Sava Church community for an exciting and unique evening of music and dance celebrating cultural diversity in Northwest Indiana. More details will follow as we get closer to the date.
