Narthex or Vestibule, in Serbian paperta, is the rear (or western) part of the church. On one of the corners of the vestibule a baptismal font is placed. In Serbian, it is called krstionica. On the left side of the vestibule there is a large desk where the vestry men stand. In Serbian, this is called a tutorski sto. The vestry men, tutori take care of the candles used in the church, as well as donations.
Above and across the vestibule, a balcony, or loft is built for the church choir. The choir loft features an impressive icon of our Lord Jesus Christ blessing the Serbian saints, known as the vine of the Nemanjich Dynasty.
