Northwest Indiana 4 Kolos Humanitarian Relief Banquet

The Four Circles of Serbian Sisters in the Northwest Indiana region ask for your assistance by attending their Annual Humanitarian Relief Fund event taking place Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Halls of St. George in Schererville, IN.

Donation checks may be made payable to “Humanitarian Fund” or “Four Serbian Sisters Circle” and presented at the banquet or may be mailed to the St. Sava Church Office at 9191 Mississippi Street, Merrillville, IN, 46410.

Local newspaper, The Times, featured a few images of Kolo Sisters preparing studels for the annual St. Sava Serb Fest. The photo above is by John J. Watkins of The Times.

The caption from the newspaper reads:

Zorka Glumac and Sandy Shinovich transfer freshly baked strudel to pans for cooling in preparation for this weekend’s Serb Fest at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in Merrillville. The festival runs from noon to midnight Friday and Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday on the parish grounds, 9191 Mississippi St., Merrillville.

Kolo Sisters Once Again Host Successful Holiday Bake Sale

They’ve done it again! Another successful holiday bake sale, making it possible for all of us to enjoy delicious homemade strudels and nut rolls this holiday season. NO ONE makes homemade strudel dough anymore – except St. Sava’s fabulous KOLO Sisters! The proof is in the taste – light and flaky – and so good! Thanks, ladies!

Many sisters worked tirelessly for several weeks preparing for the November 23rd Bake Sale and are not pictured below. We’ll try to catch them next time!
